Meta Announces $2 Million Funding for Llama 3.1 Impact Grants
Meta has announced a major funding opportunity for its Llama 3.1 Impact Grants. The company will offer up to $2 million in total to support projects using its new open-source AI model.
Applications are now open. Selected projects can receive up to $500,000 each. Meta seeks proposals that use Llama 3.1 to address key social and economic issues. Winners will be announced early next year.
In addition to the main grants, Meta will host events worldwide. These include hackathons, workshops, and training sessions. Participants at these events can also win specialized awards of up to $100,000.
The Llama 3.1 grants follow the success of the first Llama Impact Grants, which attracted over 800 applications. Meta is expanding the program to support even more innovative uses of AI.
