Step-by-Step Guide to Creating a Website in Google Blogger
Step 1: Create a Gmail Account
- Go to Gmail: Open your web browser and go to www.gmail.com.
- Sign Up: If you don’t already have a Gmail account, click Create Account. You’ll find this button on the bottom left of the sign-in box.
- Fill in Your Details: Enter your name, desired email address, and password. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the account setup.
- Verify: Gmail will send a verification code to your phone or email. Enter this to finalize your account creation.
Step 2: Access Blogger
- Go to Blogger: After creating your Gmail account, open a new tab and search www.blogger.com.
- Log In: Click the Sign In button in the top right corner. Enter your Gmail details.

- Create a New Blog: Once logged in, you are now in Blogger dashboard. You will create your site here. On the left-hand side, click New Blog (located towards the top of the left-side menu).
Step 3: Set Up Your Blog
- Create a New Blog: Once logged in, you’ll see the Blogger dashboard. On the left-hand side, click New Blog (located towards the top of the left-side menu).
- Choose a Title: A window will pop up asking you to create your blog. The first step is to choose a title. This title will appear as the name of your website. Enter something relevant to your content.
- Example: Skill Development Resource Center.
- Choose a URL: The next field will ask for a URL. This will be your blog's web address, e.g., skilldevelopmentcenter.blogspot.com. Choose a URL that reflects your website’s content.
- Choose a Theme: Blogger will offer you some basic theme options. Pick any theme for now – we’ll customize this later. Once you select a theme, click Create Blog at the bottom.
Step 4: Customize Your Blog Theme
- Open the Theme Section: On the left-hand menu, click Theme (3rd option from the top).
- Choose a Theme: You’ll see various theme options such as "Contempo," "Soho," and "Emporio." Hover over a theme you like and click Apply to select it.
- Customize the Theme: Once your theme is applied, click the Customize button under the theme preview on the right side. This will open Blogger’s Theme Designer tool.
- Edit Colors and Fonts: In the Theme Designer, you can change the colors, fonts, and background of your site. Use the left menu to select options like Background, Advanced (for fonts and text color), and Layout. Customize your theme to align with topics such as "best ai website" or "ai online free."
- Save Your Changes: Once you’re happy with the design, click Save at the top right.
Step 5: Add Pages (Like About and Contact)
- Open the Pages Section: In the left menu, click Pages (located just below Posts).
- Create a New Page: Click the New Page button at the top left of the screen. This will open a text editor similar to Google Docs.
- Write Your Page Content: Add content to your page, like an "About Us" section. For example:
- Title: About Us

- Publish the Page: Once you’ve written your content, click the Publish button in the top right corner.
Step 6: Add a Custom Domain (Optional)
- If you want to use a custom domain (like www.yourwebsite.com instead of yourwebsite.blogspot.com):
- Buy a Domain: Purchase a domain from a provider like Namecheap or GoDaddy.
- Set Up Custom Domain in Blogger:
- Go to the Settings tab in Blogger (found towards the bottom of the left-hand menu).
- Scroll to the Publishing section.
- Click Custom Domain and enter your domain name. Follow the on-screen instructions to verify your domain by adding DNS records through your domain provider.
Step 7: Add Widgets to Your Blog
- Go to the Layout Section: Click Layout from the left-hand menu.
- Add Widgets: In the layout section, you’ll see a layout diagram of your website. Click Add a Gadget at the spot where you want to add a new feature (e.g., a sidebar or footer).
- Select a Widget: A pop-up will appear with various widgets like Labels, Archives, and HTML/JavaScript. Select the widget you want to add, customize it if necessary, and click Save.
- Rearrange Widgets: Drag and drop the widgets to rearrange them on your layout. Save your changes.
Step 8: Write and Publish a Blog Post
- Go to Posts: On the left-hand menu, click Posts.
- Create a New Post: Click the New Post button at the top left.
- Write Your Post: Use the text editor to write your blog post. You can add images, videos, and other media by clicking the corresponding buttons at the top of the editor. Utilize topics like "ai online free" or "ai download" to engage with a wider audience.
- Publish Your Post: Once you’re done, click Publish at the top right.
Step 9: Preview and Launch Your Blog
- Preview Your Blog: Click the View Blog button at the bottom left corner of the dashboard to see how your blog looks.
- Make Final Adjustments: Go back to the Theme or Layout sections to make any final adjustments to your site.
- Launch Your Blog: Once satisfied, share your blog’s URL with your audience!
Notes:
- Location of Buttons: Most options are accessible from the left-side menu. "New Post," "Pages," and "Layout" are all near the top of the menu, while "Settings" and "Theme" are lower down.
